I kept wondering why my clothes had this blah… Smell to them after using Tide even. I work around 10+ hr days 4-5 days a week and started buying new clothes to get rid of the smell. Then the new clothes smelled blah.. after first wash. Well turns out your washer needs to be washed lol!! This stuff worked great. Back to smelling that great tide scent and using half the amount of soap as before. My washer will be getting a affresh tablet once every 6 weeks. Amazon has a great 6 month subscription even so you don’t have to worry about remembering. I think it was only $10.00 every 6 months. The money saved from the amount of soap I was using easily pays for it. Also I have piece of mind I don’t stink when wanting to go out. Couldn’t be happier with something so small.

New band name?! Bad jokes aside, these went a very long way toward getting my Samsung front loading washer back in to shape. I think it’s important to note that they aren’t a silver bullet, as a first time front loading owner I didn’t realize the washer itself should be drained as part of routine maintenance (beyond self clean). If anyone else is dealing with a paper mill / foggy / musty smell in a relatively new front loader, double check your manual on draining it in addition to standard things like leaving the door/tray open.Draining + self clean cycle once every month or two turned out to be the cure.

My washing machine stank, and worse, it made everything I washed stink. Naturally none of the menfolk could smell it (until my son finally admitted he could.) I knew it was under the agitator, and that the last time we’d removed it there was gunk beyond belief (and smell) under there, but removing that every time it stinks is simply not an option – it’s difficult and eventually we break something – mostly ourselves. I had tried everything else, literally everything, to remove that smell.I got this product, Affresh, because it had the highest reviews online and it was supposed to work on both front and top load washers (mine is top load.) I figured it would be worth a try.Oh my ever loving Jeebus THIS worked. ONE TABLET. The instructions say to use three in a row (not at once, IN A ROW one after another) if you haven’t cleaned your washer in some time. But seriously, it only took the one. The stench was gone. Just. Gone. I have a good nose, and smells that nobody else seems to be able to find, I can smell them. NO MORE STINK!! If I could dance the cha-cha, I’d do it. (But I’d probably fall and then someone else would be using my washer and I just can’t have that LOL!)Use this stuff. It’s the best thing ever! Best. Thing. Ever.

My front loading washer has a cleaning cycle that tells me to use this product by name. Maybe there are other products that do this same thing, but this is the only one I buy. I put it in when the washer tells me to and I’ve never had any issue with odors or clothes not being clean. I’m going to take that to mean that it works as I really have no proof that it doesn’t! And the scent does not cause me problems, even though I use all scent free detergents otherwise as I have chemical allergies.

The photo is the inside of the detergent dispenser on my #Maytag front loading washer. I kept noticing what I thought was dirt on the detergent dispenser. When I removed it to scrub it, I happened to bend down to pick up something I dropped and noticed the “roof” of the dispenser compartment was covered in black mold. Now I keep the door & detergent dispenser open to dry out. Extremely poor design on #Maytags part. Now when I use Affresh, my laundry doesn’t smell like mold.

If you have a front loader, you need these. Owned my machines for about 6 months and started to get a clean warning on the screen and a strange sent from the drum. After finally reading the manual, I realized these machines need some maintenance. These tabs are great! after first use, the drum smell went away and now I use once a month (as recommended) and also set up auto ship every 6 moths to save a few dollars and a trip to the store.

These are great especially for front load machines. If your machine smells, it is because it needs cleaning. I went a long time without using these thinking it was just another marketing thing. Our front loader started smelling. Even after draining the water line at the bottom of the washer and wiping the seals and tub with bleach, the washer still smelled musty. I tried one of the afresh tabs the last time I cleaned the washer. I did the same water line drain, cleaning the water filter, wiping the seal and all behind the seal as much as I could get with bleach, then I put the afresh tab in and put the washer on self clean. After the self clean was finished, I took a dry cleaning towel and wiped out the residue in the wash tub. The smell was gone! I now use these once a month and we have not have any issues with odor.

My wife hounded me to buy her new front loading HE washer and dryer, and I let her pick some out. The front loading, high efficiency washers have a tendency to quickly acquire a moldy/musty smell, and ours started within a few uses. I checked in with my local appliance repair shop and they provided me with a few different washer cleaner samples; these ones do the job quite well. Any time I get low, I order more; they remove the smell and I feel like my clothes get cleaner after using these Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner tablets.

Once a quarter and keep your dish wash machine work longer for you. It clears all the gunk around rubber seals and drain pipes and thus keep machine in good working condition. Used one every quarter, or you could use 3 tablets a year and that’s enough.

Finally, something that cleans my front load washer and actually works. For context, I live in a rental…and this was someone else’s washing machine before mine…and likely before them. It smells. I tried baking soda, vinegar, and other recommendations. I used two tablets and did back to back cycles, and the smell is finally gone.
