The thermostat regulates the heater and causes it to cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature. You can also manually set the heater to run on High or Low all the time or with a timer. The heater has to be turned on first in order to use the remote. This a safety provision mandated by the Underwriters Laboratory. So, in order to use the remote, the first step for the user is to press the POWER button on the heater itself. This turns the heater on STANDBY. Then, pressing the POWER button on the remote will turn the heater on. The heater can’t be turned on if the unit is not on STANDBY.

If You’re Looking For Heat – Don’t Think Twice – Get One of These…!
Wanting to save on heating oil this year, I decided to convert to electric using space heaters in the 4 rooms I mainly use in my 9 room house. Little did I know it was going to turn into the adventure it did, or that there was so much misinformation about heaters being spread around out there by so many individuals presenting themselves as experts, when they’re actually misinformed fools. The 4 rooms I’ve been working with are 10′ x12′, 12′ x 12′, 12′ x 18′, and 12′ x 45′. As you can imagine, the two larger rooms have been the most difficult to find a solution for… but some of the heaters even had trouble warming up the two smaller (though still medium/large) rooms.I’ve bought and tried -forced-air utility heaters;oil-filled radiator heaters;ceramic heaters;4′ long portable baseboard heaters, and…6-element infrared heaters… and no, contrary to what some misguided “experts” are posting, not all 1500w heaters put out the same amount of heat. They would know this if they actually went out and bought a number of different heaters and actually tried them and compared them, as I have. All “1500w” means is that’s how much current they will draw from the outlet (12.5A)… it is NOT an indication of how much heat they put out.Even the mathematical calculation for BTU’s doesn’t tell you – how good a fan a heater has; how wide an area it can heat; how far the heat is projected; whether the heat travels straight up in a column and mixes with the cool air at the top of the room before it can provide any heat to the area below, etc. etc.So, no *** not all heaters have the same ability to heat a room ***…and anyone who’s bought a few heaters in their life knows this from experience. In my case, I’ve bought and tried 8 different heaters in the course of my adventure this year (all 1500w BTW). I returned 4 of them the very next day because of their inability to heat either of the two “smaller” rooms, and I still wasn’t satisfied with the ones that did the best in the two larger rooms as, one ran continuously, barely able to do the job (but at least it was doing the job, and keeping my little cockatiel comfortable); and the one in the other room takes about an hour to raise the temperature 4 degrees (from 62F) on “Hi”, and then another 4 hours or so to raise it another 2 degrees after I switch it to “Lo” so I can turn the TV on without it tripping a breaker… and these are the best that I had been able to find, up to that point of the 8 I’d bought and tried on others recommendations after reading hundreds of reviews to use in these rooms, and the search continues. The most expensive of the 8 heaters I had purchased up to that point was $70 after shopping around for the best sale price, and at steep discounts. After all, I’m trying to save money here, and with 4 rooms to try to heat, well… it certainly adds up. But no matter what, a heater’s gotta be able to do it’s job and give off heat enough to warm the room… ultimately, if one has to spend a little more to find a heater that actually provides the amount of heat that’s required, that’s just what one ends up having to do if you actually want some warmth. So, I absolutely did not want to spend $100+ on a heater. I’ll tell you that right up front. I had also read people in their reviews, or answering questions who said the DR-968 only has one heating element (which ended up being not true). Being aware that most infrared heaters have 6 quartz elements (some have 4, and the real expensive ones have 8). Naturally, I thought how can an infrared heater with only 1 heating element provide more heat than one that has 6 or 8 elements…? I mean, c’mon… that should be “common sense”, right…?I also read people complaining about how it wouldn’t shut off fully without using the remote control; that the remote control couldn’t be used for some things it should be able to, and that you had to use the control panel anyway, which made the remote control totally useless (again, totally wrong)… and that didn’t sound good…Others had said DR-968 was “dangerous” and screaming (writing in all CAPS), telling others “Do Not Buy !!!” and all the other Bull Cr*p that is now considered “normal” by the outrage mob and the kids these days…Fortunately, I also read how great a heater it is; how quickly it was able to heat large uninsulated areas, and areas that are notoriously difficult to heat like garages with concrete floors, and so on; a handful of reviews that said it was the hands-down **Best** heater they ever bought; others had reported that after they bought one and tried it out, they went out and immediately bought 2 more… someone else said one of these kept their **entire** apartment warm and cozy all by itself; and another said two of them kept their entire family warm for a few days in a cold spell during an emergency when their oil burner died on them, and so on.So, my curiosity was piqued. and as I made my way through heater after heater, and heater type after heater type, and discovering that in reality there is no way to really know how much heat a heater puts out or how large a room it can actually heat by it’s stated specifications, and learning that the ONLY way to really know is to actually try it and experience it yourself, I ordered one up.Well, it arrived earlier today, and as soon as I got it in the house, I unboxed it right in the kitchen, took a few minutes to read through the few pages in the manual, and then brought it into the living room (12′ x 18′), plugged it in, pressed the power button, and then stood back about *6 feet or so* to observe, and wait for the results, and to see how long it would take to heat up…Holy Cow…!!! were the exact words that came to mind… Unlike the “6-element infrared heater’ running downstairs who’s air was barely “lukewarm” against the palm of my hand from 3′ away, the air coming at me from this little baby felt VERY WARM from the spot right where I was standing…! Air that would have felt cool from the far more element blessed heater downstairs at that distance.Curious, I kept my palm in front of me, feeling for the flow of the warm air current, and slowly moved backwards to see how far it would project the heat… it wasn’t until I was about 10′ away that the air began to feel “lukewarm”, and even then there was still airflow, meaning it was circulating the air in a much greater volume than any other heater I had yet tried. It wasn’t a “strong” airflow, one that would blow things out of the way or anything, but just a good volume of air that was being moved, beyond what any other heater I had tried was able to move, and I felt a very satisfying sense of optimism and satisfaction start to rise within me in response. It only ran for 3 or 4 minutes, then cycled off, which didn’t seem like enough time to do very much, judging by the rather sizable assortment of heaters I’d already evaluated and judged to be incapable of doing the job. To my surprise, when I looked at the thermostat I had sitting on the end table a few feet away, it had actually raised the temperature of the room by about 2 degrees…! Yeah… THAT was impressive.I thought “now I know why those reviewers went and bought another one (or two) immediately after they got their first one”, as I found my mind all on it’s own started considering doing the same thing… this little thing is great…! better than any other of these things that I’ve tried for a non-commercial, home based usage….Out of curiosity, I positioned it right alongside of the heater that I had previously found to be the best of the many I’d tried, aimed it in the very same direction, set the temperature a couple degrees higher so it would start heating again, and then sat down on the couch where I usually sit while watching TV though with the TV off at the moment. The noise from the fan wasn’t very loud at all, the motion of the air wasn’t bothersome at all, and the air where I was sitting was comfortable and becoming more comfortable by the minute, as it did it’s job.The next thing I did was set it on “Low”, and checked to see how much heat it would put out at that setting. On “low”, it felt about like a hair dryer blowing on the “low” setting against my hand from 3 feet away. A darn sight warmer than the “6-element” infrared heater I had running downstairs, and I could still feel the warmth as I slowly moved backward with my open hand still facing the DR968 as I did so.Another nice feature of this heater, I discovered, is that when it’s in Eco mode it uses the “Hi” setting (1500w) if it senses the room temperature has to be raised more than 2 degrees. But when it gets within 2 degrees of the set temperature, it automatically switches to “Lo” mode (1200w) to help save on the electric bill… nice…!So, yeah, this one infrared element/one ceramic element combination (2 element) heater is hands down far-superior to every single other heater or of any other heater type that I have tried, and the 6-element Lifesmart heater is getting returned to the store I bought it from tomorrow. While I’m in no hurry to spend another $110, I’m seriously contemplating the pros and cons of making it through the season with the heater that’s currently in the Living Room that takes an hour to take the chill off, and 4 more hours to make the room comfortable, or to just get another one of these that heats the room those 4 degrees within 10 minutes, and then gets it up another two degrees in just a few more minutes.. If you think about it, I could run this for 15 minutes rather than waiting 6 hours with another one of these in this room, and with this one the fan shuts off when the room reaches the temperature it’s set at, and then senses the air every 4 minutes to see if it’s needed to warm things up a bit again, unlike the other one who’s fan never stops running, keeping the electric meter spinning for hours all by itself.Plus this one has a remote, so I can adjust the temperature its set at from the couch; set it to run on “High” or “Low” if I want to without having to get up, and even on “Low” it will still cycle off when the set temperature is reached, whereas the other one runs continuously on “Max” when it’s set to “Lo” and has no thermostat function in that mode, just burning up the meter (as one tends tend to forget it’s running, and running, and running, while you’re doing other things like one tends to do when watching a good show or a movie)…Decisions… decisions…One thing’s for sure, the DR-968 **dual element** heater is a winner. It’s outperformed every other heater I’ve tried over the past 2 months this winter; it has a remote; the thermostat remains active whether it’s in Economy mode, Hi Mode, or Lo Mode; it warms faster than any other heater; it’s more than adequate for my 12′ x 18′ (216 sq ft) living room, and there’s no doubt it will do a better job than anything else I’ve tried in my 12 x 45 (540 sq ft) room downstairs that I actually bought it for….and now I’m finding the thought “it’s nice when things finally go right for a change…!” going through my mind…..if only **everything** worked the way this little baby does… it’s a winner as far as I’m concerned. ;-)So, go ahead and pick one up… you won’t be sorry……and oh, yeah, it has a 90 day warranty by Amazon, and it has a 3 year warranty from the manufacturer… there’s a sticker right on the top of the cabinet with the companies contact information, that welcomes you to contact them if there’s any problems at all, saying they’ll be more than happy to fix any problem that you may have should anything come up… and quite a few people have commented on how pleasant and helpful they are to deal with when they’ve been contacted…I certainly give it my highest recommendation….! ;-)I’ll certainly be picking another one up before next winter…

It works at -17 degrees
Hey folks I live in a 28-foot RV or / travel trailer right now I am surrounded by a foot and a half of snow the outside temperature is about 32 degrees or a little less and right now I’m sitting comfortably and my trailer at a room temperature of 60°. Also I have 13 single pane windows that I’ve covered in a insulated styrofoam if you will like you would find on the inside of a roll up garage door and I have what they call the Northwest package but it doesn’t bring my insulation rating down below freezing or any by freezing time without prep you’d be out of luck but here’s a single heater running on high that goes off and on keeping the room warm and it compensates for the use of my propane which is crippling my SSI so all those pictures you saw the overheated wall plugs and such those are usually caused by a loose-fitting wall plugs you know that are overused or by having the machine cranked up 24/7 non-stop on 80° or something trying to compensate for heating room too big or two little insulated but like I said I have a Northwest package Forest River 28 ft 2000 travel trailer that I live in year round and other than the skirting and the slide insulation on the Windows my house is at 60° and it’s below freezing outside if this is helpful I hope it is I’m sorry about the issues I saw with the wall plugs if you don’t give the machine an opportunity to shut off every once in awhile it’s going to burn out anything specially when you’re drawing 1500 watts so anyway I hope this is helpful and I’m so pleased with it that I’m buying a second one and I’m going to put it in the front half of the trailer run them both on low and probably be running around in here at 70 degrees all winter long anyway thank you for the product I’m very pleased with it………… A little update I got my second heater woke up this morning they were both set on 65° during the night on low when I woke up this morning it’s 12° outside and it’s 61 degrees indoors so I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one of these if you’re in my kind of situation with a little prep they do great work if you have a really good insulated room don’t sweat it it’s going to heat it as long as it doesn’t exceed it’s square footage rating you know if it’s good for a thousand square feet you’re not going to eat 1500 so anyway no hot burned up plugs because I’m allowing the heater to shut off every once in awhile which means you’re not exceeding its ability to heat the room if it stays running 24/7 it’s going to melt it down that’s for sure but anyway the second one work just like I thought it would I spent all day in the trailer in the low ’70s because of the second heat so don’t hesitate if you need one,………….,……,. Well here’s the third update it got down to three degrees outside and two of these heaters set on low keeps my interior temperature between 65 and 67 degrees on low or Eco one on eco and one on low and it’s keeping my trailer very warm and it doesn’t allow for any plug meltdowns or anything because I don’t let him run on high continuously so all I can say guys is that this was a life changer for me I went from 4 propane bottles that are rated at 30 lb I think. I used to go through four a month I’ve gone through three in two months this time around with these two heaters running all day alI I can say is the electricity is cheaper than the propane where I’m at propane is over $5 a gallon I guess is how you would refer to it but we’re talking to fill one bottle we’re talking 35 almost 40 bucks so if you do the math you can see I’m coming out smelling like a rose using these heatersAs part of this major storm it’s gotten to 12 minus up here and for the first time in 3 weeks I’ve had to turn off the heater a little bit to help back up these heaters at 12 – the heaters were running at 68° and the trailer was at 51°. So I turned up the propane heater for a little bit the floor furnace to bring it back up to 60° and it only came on four or five times during the day with these heaters running which is great for me considering I was doing four 30 gallon tanks a month and I’ve only gone through three and almost two and a half months so I say it’s a win-win now don’t get me wrong I’m not sitting around in my Bermuda shorts or anything but I’m living in a 20-year-old travel RV trailer 28 ft long with what they call the Forest River package which gave me a built-in furnace and an air conditioner but other than that I have some foam foil covered insulation for the windows and I just leave enough of the window exposed to see out of it and I’ve got my septic tank and water area wrapped and I’ve got some heat lamps going under there to keep it above zero it seems to be working great of course it works better when it’s in the tens and twenties but at least I know that for a short period of time this will work at even 15 below thank you for the ramble it’s December 24th or 23rd somewhere in there 2022 so you guys know this is up to date anyway I hope this guy this helps you know if I had a third circuit in my trailer I put a third one in here and I probably wouldn’t have to use propane at all anyway I hope this helps.- 17 is the limit for heating without a lot of help with propane .

Nice quiet little heater
We use this style of heater to take the chill off of a couple back rooms of our older house. This one is smaller than I expected, but it puts out a decent amount of heat, and is very quiet, probably half as loud as the one it replaced. I also like that it has two heat outputs, so on days when there is just a ‘little’ chill, you can have just a ‘little’ heat.Another feature I like is that you can have the dual heat output operate automatically. By this, I mean if it only has to warm the room a degree or two, it does it on low to save power, and if it needs to warm the room several degrees, it automatically kicks up to high. The controls are straightforward, and easy to figure out.Overall build quality is pretty good, and I tried leaning it over to verify the tip over safety feature worked, and it did. No complaints so far, except that ‘maybe’ our larger (and noisier) one we had before might put out just a tiny bit more heat.

Great heater
I’ve had this 2 or 3 years. I bought it for our basement, where we had our freezing cold TV room. We have moved since and right now I’m using it on our main floor living room, which is a big space. I love it. I wanted something off the ground, but easy to move around and the wheels are perfect. It doesn’t touch the floor and is easy to move. Thermostat works great and the remote is essential. I’m very satisfied. I had never heard of the brand, but read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. I also like that it isn’t open anywhere, except the top heating part, so I feel very safe. You just have to watch that if you think you’ve turned it off, but you haven’t it can blow cold air. I’m checking out heaters, to see if I find anything better since the price has gone up quite a bit, but haven’t found anything yet. Highly recommend.

Glad we bought it
Our furnace went out last night, and sees as to it is December, it is quite chilly where we live. If we had not purchased this little space heater, it would be VERY uncomfortable until we could get someone in to work on the furnace. The temperature last night didn’t get super low-it was about 40 degrees F, but I was VERY thankful to have purchased this. Between running this heater, and kicking on the oven a bit off and on, the temperature in our house has actually gone up from 65 (when I noticed the furnace wasn’t working) up to 68 and that’s for about 700 square feet. -two of the downstairs rooms are not really warm, so I am not including them in that, and our upstairs has a separate furnace

It truly works great!
I read all the reviews and was a bit skeptical. Then I read the really long review by a man that had tried all kinds of heaters and was prompted to give it a try.My house was built in 1925, and I do have central air. However, it cycles repeatedly and there are cold spots. I bought this to see if it could help keep the room at a steady temperature. It works like a dream. I like that it is close to the floor and believe this helps tremendously as we know heat rises.I like that it has a 3 year warranty also.If you order, I hope your just as pleased as I am!

I love this heater!
We live in a Texas so it doesn’t get as cold as up north. Well our central heater broke two years ago. Last year we used two small space heaters. One for up stairs and one for downstairs. We live in a small townhouse condo. It was always freezing in our house our floors were like ice even with both space heaters on. So I decided to shell out a little extra money for a better one, this one. I thought for sure I would need to assist it with one of my other small space heaters but I was pleasantly surprised. I set it to 70 degrees and it stays right around 69- 70 degrees. I keep it downstairs but it works so well I don’t even need to use small heater for upstairs. We had one hard freeze at night so far. It got to 28 degrees. It Did great! I imagine it wouldn’t work as well with a larger house up north but you could probably add a few small cheap space heaters for small rooms to help out. I think most use it to save on their heating bill but not use it as their primary heating source. Which I think it will do very well for that. Definitely worth!

Good heater but with noticeable flaw.
Good heater. runs quiet, puts out more heat than most larger units Ive owned, but it has a flaw that is consistent to the space heater industry. This heater draws 12.5 amps, but only has a 16 AWG power cord. The max amp rating for 16 AWG is 13 amps, so its carrying peak amperage anytime the heater is on a high setting and running, which it could be doing for hours. Minimum, all 1500w space heater should use 14AWG, preferably 12AWG.I think the industry using 16 AWG is an intentional flaw which causes the units to overheat just enough to significantly shorten the lifespan of the the heaters. I like this heater though. It works very well, though it wont heat/warm up 1000 sq ft as claimed. Im thinking about replacing the power cord though with a 14AWG cord though. I would recommend this unit,,, just dont think it will heat up a cold 1000 sq ft area.

Heat output is lacking
This is a fancy heater but I am not happy with the heat output. I live in Maine so have plenty of experience with just about every sort of portable heater that exists, including kerosene and propane heaters. What I have learned about heaters is that the federal government limits the maximum wattage on electric heaters to 1500 watts. What that means is that no matter what electric heater you buy, you are only going to get a certain amount of BTUs out of it. I have a small Lasko ceramic heater which cost me $70. It has a remote control, and a ton of different setting options, with a built in timer and fan. I get just as much heat from the Lasko as this Dr. Infrared heater, if not more. I live in a small mobile home which is well insulated and weatherized. I keep a heater right near to my recliner at night when I am watching TV. We have had temps in the mid-30s and with this Dr. Infrared heater, I cannot get the temperature in my immediate vicinity above 62 degrees. I mean that is with the heater right next to me. I find that the fan in the heater is weak, and that the heater just doesn’t put out much heat. It comes in a nice wood case, has a remote control, and I will say that if I set the temperature to something below 60 degrees, it does seem to keep the temperature consistently. But strictly as a matter of heat output, it does no better than the Lasko ceramic heater or another small electric heater I have – a nice workshop heater that cost me 40 bucks. So when all is said and done, this is what I have learned to be the best setup when it comes to heating with portable heaters. The most economical and effective heater for me is a propane heater. I have a cabinet style propane heater which takes a 15-lb tank. Yes the heater is somewhat heavy to move around, but I don’t move it around much. I had my tank filled at the local hardware store for $16 and I am on day six on that tank. That is with running it on low for 12 hours a day. But here’s the thing. The heat from the propane heater is much more intense versus the electric heaters. I turn it on high in the morning and it blasts the heat. Once I get it up to temp (about 20 minutes) I turn it on low and it keeps the kitchen nice and comfortable. I do have a small fan on top of the fridge to circulate the warm air and the whole setup works great. I have not had any issues at all with any propane smell or anything like that. However, I do keep my exhaust fan above my kitchen stove on low, just to keep fresh air circulating in general, so that may help. In the bedrooms, I now have electric heaters hooked up to wifi outlets and I control them through my phone app to turn on and off a specific times. I have a full size oil furnace, but the price here of K1 kerosene to run it is over $8.00 a gallon. It is much cheaper for me to use space heaters and only heat the rooms I am in. Being able to control the heaters using an app on my phone is critical for maximum comfort and efficiency. For example, I set the bathroom heater to come on in the morning one hour before I get up, so it is nice and toasty when I step in. I turn the bedroom heater on low when I go to bed, and it switches to high one hour before I get up. In short, with things set up the way I have I am never cold, and yet the heaters are only running when they actually need to be, versus having my oil furnace running 24 hours a day. In the dead of Winter, I go through 3 gallons of kerosene with the oil furnace. At $8 a gallon…you do the math. It’s horrendous. Probably will never use it again now that I have discovered the possibilities with space heaters. As for this Dr. Infrared heater, you don’t need to spend $120 to do what this heater does. I guess if you really like the wood case and wheels…but for heat output, no. There are better and cheaper options.

So far, so good
I researched infrared heaters and honestly still don’t quite get how they do what they do!I bought this on the basis that it said it is good for rooms with high ceilings. I have a large bedroom with semi-high ceilings. It is really weird, This doesn’t really warm the air but it keeps me nice and warm in the room. It is still fall but we have had a few really chilly nights here in the Northeast. One night I actually turned it off as I was really toasty warm.I live in an older, slightly drafty, house/apartment. Will see what this does during the winter. Our heat turns off around 11:00 and the building cools. So far, I find this to be better than the oscillating fan type space heaters. The unit has some weight to it but isn’t real heavy. The caster wheels are a big plus. You can roll it around. The different settings are nice but the really strange thing is there is a power button on the remote. It turns the fan off, but not the unit. You have to turn the whole unit off by pressing the power button on the heater itself. It looks really nice in the room like a piece of furniture. And it is real wood. It does not get hot to the touch either. I may get another for the back of my apartment. Not sure how much electricity it uses. Waiting on the bill. But it has an eco friendly setting.

Interface came off and button became inoperable
As you can see in the picture, somehow the user interface shifted and the Mode and Increase Temperature buttons stopped working. The unit then stopped working. I will add I bought this because I already had the same exact product for 2 years and it’s been extremely reliable and better than the other space heater I have (to supplement heat above my garage which has poor insulation). Also I should add, this happened on the first week and Amazon had a new unit shipped within a day and UPS picking up the malfunctioned unit within a day. That was nice and considering the first one is still working great, I’ll see how this second one goes.

Perfect for my basement
This is exactly what I wanted for my finished walkout basement. I’ve tried many infrared heaters, but this one puts out the most heat. My 1200 sq. ft. basement is an in-law suite with a bedroom, living room, kitchen and small den. It’s not drafty but it feels cold due to the back wall being subterranean. This heater warms up the entire basement very quickly. I leave it on 78 degrees. It supplements the HVAC heat which doesn’t kick on as long as the heater is on. The power button on the unit must be on for the remote control to turn the heat on and off (heater is on standby when power button is on). I’m happy with this purchase.

Great heater, gets the job done!
Got my heater today and it heats up in seconds. I have two other 1500 Lasko heaters that I also use in a 1700sf home. This one is quieter and puts out hotter heat than the other two. Using it to heat up a 14′ x 30′ area of two rooms. I am not using the heat pump in the house when it’s below 35 degrees out, just space heaters. All of the 3 heaters will make any regular sized room about 10 degrees warmer than it was to begin with. Would highly recommend and might buy another one. When it’s 20-30 degrees outside, this heater and the Lasko heaters will keep the house temp at around 60-65 degrees after several hours of running. We’re trying not to use our furnace at all during the 2022-23 winter season. So this is our first test of the Dr. Heater. Will update later in the season.

Money well spent
I was a little skeptical at first and purchased another heater similar but at a lower price point. This heater was definitely quieter than the other and heated my house a lot quicker also. It started out heating just the living room (I have the hallways blocked out by curtains to contain the heat) but then decided to remove the curtain to the 2 bedrooms to see if they would also warm up and they definitely did! I then decided to remove the curtain leading to the kitchen and now almost my whole house (garage and laundry room excluded) is heated by this single machine. Needless to say I returned the other heater. If I would have any negative thing to say is that the heater does not shut off once the temperature inside matches whatever the thermostat is set to so I usually keep it on eco mode and turn it off as needed. I’m experimenting to see how much my power bill is keeping on for the most part (on eco mode). Typically with the electric heaters we have in the house our power bill increases by $70-80 during the winter time. I’ll update as soon as my new bill comes out next week.

So far so good
I live in a one bedroom one bathroom 900 sq ft duplex. It is a open floor setting all on one floor. My sister purchased my Dr. infrared about a week ago and I placed it in my high ceiling living room. Just one seemed to toast up the home really well. I already had a Dyson hot and cool so I place the Dyson in my room and in the kitchen and noticed a big difference with the 2 heaters. The dyson blows hot air so it never warmed the ground or furniture but the dr. infrared warms your furniture and floors. So I purchased a second one to help heat up the entire home (including my bedroom) a bit better and it’s been great. I keep the setting on Eco to 68 and it does its thing. I’ve yet to have an issues. Now just need to see how much the two spike up my electric bill.

Great little heater one small quirk.
This is a fantastic heater. Absolutely amazing. Exactly what they say it can do. The only only problem I have with it is that you can’t dim the light. I like to sleep in darkness. Have the heater kick on whenever it gets below 72. The red light is pretty bright. If you’re not using this in your bedroom, or you don’t mind a some light, it’s perfect. Even with the quirk I wouldn’t want another heater.

Dr-968 vs Heat Surge Multi-Color Mini Glo®
Was replacing a 10 year-old Heat Surge Amish Heater and considered another Heat Surge @ $460.00. Came across the DR at $122.00 @ Amazon and have never looked back. I believe it to be among my most prudent choices. The Dr is quiet, heats a 1200 cu. ft. room quickly, and maintains consistant heat once the desired temperature has been reached (I like my room at 77-78 degrees f. while leaving the house furnace at 72 degrees f.).

Great Heater!
I bought this heater based on someone else’s Awesome review of this and other heaters. I have to say I was impressed by his review and input. Like him I have gone through several heaters. I live by myself except for a couple of animals. I can’t see turning on my heat pump so I Only use space heaters.I Was Surprised at how Small This heater is as compared to some others, But…as Soon as I plugged it in and turned it on, I walked across the room and I could feel the heat right away!I like the Big and Easy to see controls on the front, but the remote makes life Really easy! Needless to say, I Am a Big Fan of This Heater!

Efficient and heats quickly
This heater is amazing! I bought it hoping to save money on propane. So far it’s well worth it. It heats up about 800 sq feet quickly and the electricity it uses is much less expensive than using my propane, which I’ve had to set 1 to even make the temperature bearable. Any higher than that and my propane tank is empty in about three weeks. So far so good.

Cool little heat box.
I saw this heater at my friend’s house and said “That’s the coolest looking little heater I’ve ever seen”. She raved about how well it worked and we both agreed that we loved the way it looks the most. It has almost like a 70s record player vibe. The wood is beautiful. I think you should get one.

Best heater on the market.
Best heater on the market. I have bought several different brands over the years and this is by far the best. Eden Pure, Lily , several other brands all same type but DR Heater heats the best.

Seems to be a good little heater
I’m giving this little heater 4 stars because there’s just something very irritating about getting battery acid all over your hands and table when unboxing something brand new..I got this heater to use with my generator of the power goes out or to use if the heat goes out. The heater seems to work well and puts some pretty good heat out. It is small and won’t heat a large room but it will get the job done for the room I need it for.

Remote doesn’t work
The unit itself is great, but the remote doesn’t work, and the unit requires mashing buttons that shouldn’t be necessary when you turn it on. It won’t simply begin heating back to the previously set temp – you have to select a setting (eco, high, low) and re-set the temperature by clicking the up button as desired. I like the unit, but I can’t imagine there isn’t a more functional option for the price.

Warm and Comfy
The living room area (semi-open floor plan including kitchen and dining) in our split level has always been so cold in the winter that we hardly used it. Our HVAC needs an expensive overhaul, so that isn’t going to happen any time in the near future. This space heater was the perfect solution. It does a great job of keeping the entire space comfortable and now we all spend time together there. The important stuff:1. The heater is relatively quiet. You can hear it, but it is just quiet background noise. You don’t need to speak louder and we don’t need to turn up the TV volume.2. The heater does a good job of maintaining a set temperature automatically. It will shut off at temperature and only turn on as needed to maintain the setting. It will initially kick in with higher heat and faster fan speed (still quiet) and then adjust both downward as the space warms.3. The heater housing remains cool to the touch. The manual controls on the front of the heater are also room temperature even when the heat is blasting. I’ve never needed to use them other than turning it on the first time, so I had to make a point of checking this.4. I have not really tested the safety features, but the heater is low to the floor, reasonably heavy, and on casters that don’t roll w/o effort if placed on carpet. You would really have to manhandle this thing to get it to tip over. A casual bump or accidental shove will do no harm. It would move on the casters before it would tip over. There is a bit of clearance between the bottom of the unit and the carpet and the bottom of the unit doesn’t get hot.5. We’ve had it running in automatic/temp mode for a couple of months during a very cold spell and I have not noticed any substantive change in our electric bill.6. The power cord is long enough that you should be able to reach an outlet and keep the heater out of the way regardless of your room configuration. The overall size of the heater is also small enough that it should not be very noticeable. Ours sits between an end table and a decorative floor lamp at one end of a sofa between the living and dining areas. You can see that it is there, but it does not look out of place and it doesn’t jump out and scream ‘look at the space heater!’.7. It is very easy to use. The remote works fine and seems to have pretty good range. Once we turned it on and set it at a comfortable temperature, we haven’t really touched it. If you need to mess with it you can, and it is easy, but this is completely unnecessary in my opinion. I played with the remote once or twice just because, but that’s all. Set and forget.8. Finish on the cabinet seems pretty durable. We haven’t spilled anything on it (yet), but it is easy to clean and seems to tolerate typical cleaning products w/o issue. I’d treat it like any piece of finished wood like a coffee table or dining room table. If you place it out of the traffic areas, spills probably won’t happen and a periodic dusting or wipe down is all you’d need to do.Summary: I wish we had gotten this sooner. It is safe, quiet, does a great job, and isn’t ugly. Running in automatic mode has not impacted our electric bill. If I needed another, I would buy this again. If you are looking for a space heater for anything other than a shop space, I definitely recommend it. I suspect this would be fine in a shop environment, but I’d probably choose something built specifically for that purpose.

Internal shutoff. Don’t use an extension cord
I bought this heater because I now have solar and stopped using my gas floor furnace. It heats my living room quite well. I live in Berkeley so it’s not facing a huge challenge. I bought a 1600 watt rated extension cord because the heater cord is very short. This caused the heater to shut off and takes about a half hour to reset. There’s no mention of this in the manual. Believe them when they say don’t use an extension cord.

Works great in my RV in snow country.
I have been using this in my RV as a supplement to my propane furnace. Keeps the RV nice and warm once I have used the furnace to heat up the RV. Average temps have been 20 to 40 degrees everyday.

Heats a large area
I have a very large living, dining, kitchen area. It heats this entire area comfortably. When it reaches the set temperature, it turns off. When it cycles to check the temp and it’s still good, it goes back off. If it cycles and the temperature is lower, it turns back on automatically. I keep the house thermostat just below the temp that my little heater is providing, and so far my electric HVAC has not come on. I am so happy with this heater. I will find out of this helps lower my electric bill next time I get a bill.

Small Package but Sufficient Heat
Works right out of the box. Comes with a quick start guide that’s taped on the heater. Just follow those instructions and it’ll start producing heat. Also comes with a remote control and two AAA batteries. I’m using it in a 175 square foot unheated sunroom and it’s keeping me comfortable. It will not heat this whole room because of the numerous windows but, that’s not what I expected it to do. Just provide heat near where I’m sitting so I can enjoy my sunroom in the colder months, and it’s doing that. The outside temperature is 36 degrees f, but the heater, after about 30 minutes, has the room temperature at 50. I’m completely satisfied with my heater.

Great Little Heater!
This is the best space heater I’ve ever owned. Really heats up a room and then keeps it nice and cozy. Unfortunately mine showed up with one of the plastic casters on the bottom broken (even though the box showed no signs of damage). I really didn’t want to pack it back up and return it to Amazon – so I reached out to the manufacturer and they promptly mailed me a replacement. Great heater, great customer service. Get one!

Good so far
I bought this heater to replace a 12 year old Eden Pure (the Eden Pure is still going strong but I figured it will quit at some point). So far I have only used it a couple of times but it really puts out a lot of heat and warms up a 12×14 bedroom in no time. It’s smaller than my old Eden Pure but just as heavy; seems quality built. You do have to keep it back from furniture, curtains and walls because the vent in the front gets hot. The old Eden Pure never gets hot and you can touch the front vent on that one and not get burned. This heater is so quiet I don’t notice it running even when it kicks on and off in the Econ mode. The Eden Pure is much louder. So far I’m happy with this heater. I’ll update my review after I use it all winter.

Works great in a large room
I just got it set up in a huge room with cold tile floors and a huge fireplace. I had two oil heaters turned on but they weren’t doing much. I set this heater up and can feel the difference immediately. My temperature went up 2 degrees almost immediately. I tried those Alpha heaters (3) and sent them back. This was expensive but supposed to be energy efficient. But it definitely works very well.

Infrared heater , not bad for a smaller heater
Infrared heater puts out a decent amount of heat for it’s size. Package was damaged badly when it arrived and something inside sounds like it is rattling around. With that said there is no outside visable damage and the heater seems to be working okay. It is smaller than our Edenpure & puts out a little less heat. The wheels on it are nice for ease of moving it around. Mostly satisfied so far with this heater. Time will tell it’s durability on length of years it lasts.

Blows away my simulated fire place unit
Rather than being half faux fireplace and half heater, this unit is all heat. Drastic difference compared to my original heating unit. Happy I settled on this space heater out of the hundreds available. It’s tried and true so purchase with confidence

Great, ugly space heater
Plugged in upon receiving and definitely lives up to the hype in terms of heat. Just a shame the thing is so ugly with such a limited control panel. Would be great if things like the night mode feature weren’t only accessible through odd key combinations that wind up taking over the display that could light up a room. That being said, it does what it is supposed to pretty well as far as I can tell, but no question this is engineered, not designed. With simple tweaks to the design and controls, it could be a stellar product instead of something people look at and say “ewww, what’s that!?!”

Great product
Living in 110 year old house that can get drafty, this has been a lifesaver. I now use this heater to heat up the area near our couch and it warms us perfectly without having to raise the thermostat and heat up the whole house. Highly recommend this product

Best electric heater
I found the Dr Infrared electric heater capable of keeping our large area warm. I am using this heater in a 40′ three room RV and have no complaints, only good complements. The controls are easy to read and set. The thermostat is very accurate to the room temperature. Safety features are perfect for peace of mind. I have tried a few different heaters with all the best ratings and found the Dr Infrared Heater to be the very best. Looks good in its wooden box that absolutely blends into the decor. Highly recommended !

Good heater, bright lights
I’m very happy with the heat performance of this thing. We have one in the bedroom and another in the living room, saves us from spending so much on the central system given the price of natural gas right now. My only complaint is that the lights are pretty bright. If you’re one of those people who need a room super dark to sleep, this might not be for you. I’ll probably solve this by putting some darker tape over the buttons. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

Inaccurate Temperature Reading
The heater works well but the temperature readings on the digital panel are incorrect. I noticed a six degree difference between what the heater shows compared to other thermometers and I contacted the manufacturer. They indicated that you cannot trust other household readings and suggested no remedy. Needless to say, I don’t agree and realize the customer support is lacking. So, even though this unit is quite expensive, plan on setting the heater thermostat at 63 degrees to keep your room at 68.

Makes a cold room warm
For some reason one bedroom in my house is always colder than the rest. Is it a ghost? Maybe. But who cares because now I have this super warm heater that heats up a small bedroom (10 x 11) quickly. I also love that you can set the thermostat so that the room doesn’t overheat and I can save on my electricity bills. It’s also handy that it has wheels so I can point it wherever I want a warm blast of air. If I could change anything I would want it a little smaller, but ultimately I am a satisfied customer.

Great heater for 24×14 room
This heater keeps us comfortable in our living room which is hard to heat because there are windows on every wall, so lots of glass and even though they’re double glazed, they don’t keep the heat in. The heater comes with a nice remote that works well from about 8 feet. We’re very glad of this purchase . We’ve been using it for about 2 months now for several hours a day and have had no problems.

Heat output
This thing is awesome. Went through a few others and wasn’t impressed. This unit right here is all you need. Heats up my two bedroom duplex to a comfortable temp and is quite hot in the living room where it’s stationed. Just got it so I am curious to see how long it lasts. One winter? Two winters? Still too early to tell yet. But so far this unit has exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend

It Works
This heater works. I have used many others in the past, but none have been as good as this one. The area I work in is pretty open with a living room, dining area converted to an office, and a kitchen. It is 38° outside, and I am barefooted and in a short sleeve shirt. I would recommend this heater for sure to the point that I bought a second one that oscillates.

You will not be disappointed
I want to start by saying we use to run 4 radiant oil heaters to keep our home warm. We bought 2 of these after reading reviews and have not been disappointed, it only takes 2 of these to do what 4 radiant oil heaters did. These move the hot air around the room keeping the whole room comfortable or in our case the whole house, super easy to use, and if you put it in eco mode it will turn on and off as needed. The reviews on these are great and they do not disappoint.
