Terrific Stuff! Not quite as i remember it but great nonetheless..
I believe this stuff has been reformulated. That’s not likely a matter even up for debate. What is clear is that comparing this to my 90s era Fragrance Impressions Limited clone (my last remaining link to the Drakkar of the 90s, though I remember it being a dead ringer at the time) , this one is slightly different. Fresher.. Lighter. Easier to wear, I think. Maybe slightly greener. I quite like the balance of this particular fougere. It’s a rather complicated one: The note list is so cluttered that the actual scent is hardly recognizable as anything other than Drakkar.. Inscrutable. Not like ‘Canoe’ for example, which screams of lavender and coumarin. There are some woody notes at the base and plenty of aromatic and floral notes between the typical bergamot/ lavender accord. It’s the way these florals and aromatics are blended that makes it ‘new’.. ‘fresh’- relative to other, more dignified (?) fougeres. There’s an intoxicating aromatic freshness which abounds. Like i said, the modern version is a little less ambery to my nose; a little less heavy, but I still quite love Drakkar Noir. It’s as good now as ever it ever were.

Taking it back to the ’90s
I remember in the ’90s putting one or two sprays of this on and it lasting for hours. I put on six sprays before I left the house and it’s lunch time and the scent is gone. New formula perhaps? Scent is amazing like I remember but not in the performance.

Memories of youth
As an Eighties teenager, this was literally one of my two go-to fragrances – the other, of course, being Obsession, lol. I absolutely love the smell and most women do to this is a barbershop 1980s smell don’t suggest for teens as it is for a man’s in there 30s + gets 4-6 hours on skin

I do not understand fragrances. They either smell good or they do not. This fragrance does not offend me so it must be good. It is not overwhelming and it has some staying power but it does not last much more than three hours.
