Kitty loves these!
We give our elderly cat one of these as an ‘appetizer’ near 5p, mixed with a liquid cat vitamin. We change the flavor each night (chicken, turkey, ham, beef). Then we give him his ‘real’ meal (canned cat food) near 9p. His coat looks great, he’s happy and healthy for a 20yo cat!

I can’t comment on taste because I give these as a treat to my dogs and cats. But they surely are cheaper on Amazon. My fur babies love it and so does my wallet!

Nutritious
I buy this for my cats. They love it. I’m certain it’s better for them than the ‘push-up’ treats, and it’s less expensive. considering you can get 5 or 6 servings from 1 jar.

This is my go to for my Berniedoodle!
This is my go to for my Berniedoodle! My vet suggested using this product and my dogs dry food. It has a very strong smell to it. Marley loves it and it helps with feeding him. He will lick the entire jar. I know this is a bit unusual, but my vet has always said if they eat the baby food, you know the dog is doing well.

Great for cats too!
Gerber’s 100% has extended my cat’s life. When I got my cat back after a 3 night stay at the hospital for radioiodine therapy (not as awful or traumatic for him as it sounds (but definitely as expensive for me). It was just a one time, one shot with sedation (him and me both), the nurse gave us a couple jars of Turkey & Gravy 2nd foods and recommended any of the meat kind; turkey, ham, beef, chicken. She said 1/2 to full jar a day to help gain & maintain weight due to the high fat content. It is also a source of extra water. My cat is pretty finicky & stubborn with food and because I somehow became ‘that guy’, I leave a full buffet of choices out for him daily. The one constant, for a 1 year now, is Gerber’s. He still devours it (as long as I leave the room and he feels that I completely understand that its his choice to eat the baby food, and its not because I gave it to him).

AMAZING dog treat/toy stuffer
My dog LOVES this. Both flavors. We use it in his kongs, topples, etc. We also bought little hand sanitizer squeeze bottles and fill them with this, so we can use it as a training treat. Just have to squeeze a little out and voila, your dog is reinforced!

Be Careful Ordering in Winter
Under normal conditions, I have no problems with this product. In fact my cats (yes, cats, not babies) love it. However, I had a shipment that wound up freezing en route. Half the jars lost their protective sealing and the other half are a horrible texture. Because this was subscribe-and-save ordered for a pet who passed away the day after the last chance to cancel the order and the remaining cat only gets this as a treat, it was a while before I tried to open any of them, so I was unable to ask for a refund despite the product being ruined.

We have a GSD that will not take any medication! She will eat the pill pockets around and spits it out. We have tried literally everything. Now we crush up mix in a jar of this and she eats it all!

Life saver for an elderly feline
My cat is 16; she has renal failure, a-fib and a host of issues that have wreaked havvoc on her system. She is by any standard malnourished, but must eat 4-5 times a day in order to keep calories in her system long enough to digest properly. Otherwise, she can’t keep weight; she used to weigh 15 pounds, and now barely weighs 4 pounds. I have found that mixing baby food with baby rice cereal – ground up in my hands, helps keep those calories in her system long enough to help her eliminate properly without getting sick or developing the runs. She has outlived her expected life of 6 months to a year, which was 3 years ago.

Snacks for my cat
My poor kitty has Inflammatory Bowel Disease and can no longer eat chicken or fish (and I feed him no other fowl or beef since he was eating those too when he crashed). He’s now on frozen raw pork and doing well. Wanted a treat that was different from his regular food, and this he loves this ham. I have always taken care of my kitties when they were sick and would not eat with baby food, and fortunately Gerbers makes a protein that is novel (the requirement for IBF) to most cats, the ham.

Our cat loves this!
This is the only wet food that our recently adopted senior cat will eat, and we must have tried every pet food on the market. He continues to eat dry food, but this stuff has been a great addition to his diet. For the first time he actually comes into the kitchen and gazes up at us hungrily. After three months and one jar per day (he likes the chicken better than the turkey) he has lost some of his scrawniness and his bones no longer stick out. A new lease on life!

My cat loves this
Baby food turkey and chicken are both great for cats. I give this to my cat when his stomach seems to be bothering him or after hairballs. It is supposed to be gentler on their system, as it’s just the ground meat and water. I like that it doesn’t have any preservatives or chemicals in it. I don’t think it smells very appealing and have never tasted it, but it’s meant for babies not adults.
Val Viers –
Cats love it!
My 20 year old cat has a severely decreased appetite. Getting skinny. I have tried everything. He loves this cat food (1/2 jar at a time–AM & PM, plus regular free style feedings of wet canned food & dry food. My 2 other cats like it too, but I cannot afford to feed them this. Gerber Freestyle chicken flavor. I am not crazy but love my cat. He still has quality of life.

Fresh and easy to serve
We buy baby food, not for a baby but for a cat that needs to take medication. Our vet recommended using baby food instead of canned cat food, and our cat takes his medication with no issues using the baby food.

Excellent for older pets!!!
Very old pets often go off their food. If that happens with your fur friend, pick up Gerber baby food stage 2. They WILL gobble it up.

My Cat did not like the turkey flavor compare to Ham beef
Gerber should produce this food for Cat and Dog. Majority any finicky eaters will love this. Especially for ham and beef flavor. My cat eats 1 gerber Jar and blue buffalo kitten kibble everyday. But I need to feed her with a spoon. She only eat fresh.

Readily available
I feel awful because I accidentally hit the wrong feed back for my delivery. I hit the one that said it was not good. It was in fact EXCELLENT! I have tried to edit it but can’t. The Amazon driver placed the package exactly according to my instructions. Trust me, they don’t all do that… Anyway, I hope this doesn’t cause any negative marks for the driver. As far as the baby food goes, it’s always good from Amazon. It has a long shelf life, comes quickly, and is always available. What more can you ask for?

For cats, who knew?
My vet told me to use this to get a sick cat to eat or to get a cat to take medicine. The vet said cats find this stuff irresistible, SO TRUE! I literally have to block one of my cats when I feed the other one with this stuff. I’ve tried turkey in other brands when I couldn’t find Gerber and the cats won’t eat it. Something specific about how this stuff is made.

Have on Hand for Kitties!
This can be a lifesaver for a cat not eating. It’s mild, wet, palatable. Also great for connecting with a new or shy cat. As always, consider consulting a vet for any health concerns. But this is a great treat, a great eating motivator!!PS: do not use as main food source as it doesn’t contain taurine and other dietary essentials. But as a treat or an appetite stimulant, it’s perfect.

Foster cats love it but…
UPDATE: 10/21/22 – I last purchased this 12 pack on: 09/13/22 for: $14.14. Today, 10/21/22 there is one (1) Buying Option, 3rd party – $29.99. Time to check out alternate products.08/24/22- Gerber (aka: Nestle) has changed the appearance of the labeling of jars & it seems not just the labeling has been changed but the product contained within. While I have noticed over the past couple months when I purchase these “meat” varieties, especially the Chicken version, it pours out – literally like water causing me to actually check the ingredient listing to verify which is listed first- water or chicken. Still says chicken as 1st ingredient but I’m wondering if this is being experienced elsewhere. I waited to update this review to see if I was just unlucky but it’s been a couple months & whether retail store or Amazon purchase, the Chicken version recipe particularly, has been modified significantly, seeming to be more water than chicken. It would seem to be consistent across all sites of purchase- I just happen to purchase the large amounts from Amazon & as a fill in, purchase in retail stores. If refrigerated, it will thicken somewhat but that’s only a method used for leftovers. In addition, along with every other purchase in the current market, the individual jar costs where I live is $1.59- $1.79 per jar so it’s more economical still to purchase in the quantities offered thru Amazon & these packages are not available in retail outlets in my location in California. My one cat has issues with chunky cat food products & I’m left with this alternative which has become quite costly when there are multiple cats in a home who have their particular tastes but this one has a specific need. Let me say, these cats came to me when i moved to my current location, ferals & strays, neutered, spayed & vaccinated due to an irresponsible community & high cost services unless a generous donor or grant comes to town, those of us with limited incomes are the ones who care for these animals. I have noticed many reviews who use these products for the same populations for a variety of reasons. It has become a costly venture when no other choices will work but it would be nice if with the cost increase there would remain some quality control & not a diluted product with higher prices. This is a manufacturer issue, not Amazon.I just happen to Purchased numerous times over past year for an elderly cat & then for foster kitten. As far as flavor -I will assume they enjoy the chicken flavor, which is their favorite. Since I have placed so many orders I noticed the consistency of the product varies with each shipment- some are thicker & kind of lumpy while others can be thin & smooth. Today I wanted to place another order so I went into my Order History, found my last purchase of this same product @ the beginning of August 2021, which I paid $9.40 each 10 pack & clicked the “Buy Again” feature which brought me to the place I purchased previously & that same 10 pack is $23.44! Seriously? This seems to happen more often than not. When a product has high demand-suddenly it’s offered under “See all buying options” & the product has a ridiculous price. My cats might love this but I will find them an alternate. Price gouging isn’t the way to keep customers.

No I didn’t buy these for my kids or a baby I bought these for my cats when the pandemic hit and I couldn’t buy canned cat food my cat’s literally were mad at me and I heard someone say give your cat’s baby food because it’s much better, so I buy these for my cats I add a little bit of warm water to the jar and put it in a bowl for them with the food and they go nuts over this and it’s a lot cheaper than buying canned cat food and I tried to get them back on cat food in the can and they wanted nothing to do with it so I will always buy my cats baby food yeah I know it’s crazy

Very convenient
I use this product for my Geriatric toy poodle, Chihuahua and cats. My older toy dogs do not always feel like their normal meal but they will generally eat the baby food. I also use this as a special treat when training my cats to come, stand, turn around etc or when I bring them to the vet. I keep it on hand all the time.

Great for the cat, while it lasted!
This was a godsend for my elderly & ailing kitty– through 6 or 7 jars’ worth. I was super grateful to have seen recommendations for this product shortly before he suddenly went off his regular foods and would eat nothing but his formerly occasional treat of chicken breast. He loved the Gerber’s straight off, to the tune of two jars per day. I just regret that I jumped the gun on reordering, as a day or two later he suddenly lost all interest– something I attribute to his shifting ailments, not the food itself. He’s now onto the much pricier Hill’s A/D lifeline. Just docking one star here because I saw zero mention of the product being non-returnable– even a still-shrinkwrapped case. It would’ve likely been enough to have me hold off on the next order. (Should it be obvious? I’d think this was a shelf-stable enough product to be returnable, and would understand tampering concerns if package was at all open, but maybe since apparently some people still use this for babies instead of pets– LOL– there’s an abundance of caution on such things. In any case, looks like a donation to the local shelter is at hand…)

Quality Product that’s a lifesaver for some felines.
I don’t know of anyone, including myself, that has ever used this for a human baby but there sure are a legion of pet owners for whom it has been a lifesaver. I have an older cat who deals with several health problems (including cancer and diabetes) and there are times that it is difficult to get him to eat. It is life-threatening for a cat to go more than a day or two without eating when they have as many issues as he does. I have tried every pureed wet cat food out there, cans of tuna, paste on the paws, cartons of chicken broth, and food mixers but the only thing he will voluntarily eat when he is having a flare up of his IBD and other G.I. issues is this food. Not only will he eat it but he eats it with gusto. I have tried cat foods such as tiki brand which appear to be almost the same thing but for some reason, this texture, aroma, and flavor are the only thing he will eat. This is not the first time I have run into this with an ill cat. I am just glad Gerber continues to make this because I honestly believe my cat would need to be fed through a tube if this were not available.

Great cat food treati have to be honest
I have to be honest, I purchased this baby food to use as a treat for my two cats, not for any baby. I was given a tube treat of chicken for my cats and they went bonkers over it, so I tried to save money by simply buying the real deal- actual clean and simple ground chicken (much cheaper!). My cats didn’t like it as much as the squeeze tube snacks, so I’m mixing it in with their wet food til it’s gone. I also put it in homemade soup broth to use it up faster, and it was quite tasty.

Great for getting extra fluids into cat with kidney disease
I use these to get extra water into my aging cats to help their kidneys. And the turkey flavor is not too high in sodium. The other flavors are much higher, FYI in case you have a cat with heart disease…. I empty one jar into a bowl then fill the jar with purified water and gradually stir it in. I just set it alongside their other foods and water and they gradually drink from it. We call it turkey soup LOL.

Treat for kittens
Using this as a treat for 2 new kittens along with their dry food. Vet said ok to use as long as I get the plain chicken as some ingredients are toxic to cats especially onions. I Like that nothing added and small jar is good size to use as treat. Good value and arrived quickly. Only give once a day to add moisture to their diet. Only plan to use for a limited time.

High Quality & Cost Effective
High quality baby food arrived by delivery date, SHIPPED FOR FREE, and just a cost effective as if I had to drive to the grocery store!
Precise Disarray –
well packaged, long shelf life, great addition to pantry for anyone, including (esp!) pets
I was able to get this on sale a little cheaper here than I normally can find in the store. It may sound odd,yet some of you may relate, but I use baby food myself. I like the fruits and vegetables for smoothies and baking (and oats, and over yogurt), I like some of the cereals to bulk up my oats and smoothies, and I adore many of the snacks as low cal healthy munching. As for the meats, I really dont use those myself, BUT I have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and the baby food comes in handy as meal toppers, treat puzzle goodie, and for some of my (prior-RIP) extra geriatric kitties, I could get them to eat by spooning out a little baby food for them. So it’s just habit to keep an assortment of baby foods on hand. I go for turkey, chicken, or beef. (also makes a quick gravy, just saying). I guess I can even share if I knew someone who had littles.

Nutrition/digestibility
I like the soft slightly thin consistency. This makes it easy for my elderly cats to eat. This is not only great for babies but for senior cats and dogs too. Whenever my cats are under the weather or need a boost this is what I give them. It’s a little pricey but they do quite well with it.

Great to feed to kittens , elderly or sick cats
I have been working with cats and kitten rescue, fostering, TNR, and adoptions to furever homes, plus I have had cats of my own for many years and still do. I even showed cats for a time.I have found when I don’t have any wet kitten food, the Gerber Baby Foods, 2nd food meat, Chicken and gravy or Turkey and gravy is the next best thing. There are only two ingredients, chicken and water or Turkey and water. For my elderly and or cats and sometimes kittens who are not feeling well, but need to eat, I have found if I heat up the Geber Baby Foods 2nd Food meat, Chicken and gravy, or Turkey and gravy, again only TWO (2) ingredients, and add a little warm water so the baby food isn’t to thick, the majority of all of my kittens, elderly and or unwell cats will eat this, plus it is extremely easy to put in a small syringe and feed it to them in small amounts at a time while I hold them on my lap.I have nursed many a cat/kitten back to health feeding them this Gerber Baby Foods 2nd food meat. Once they have returned to being healthy they go back to the wet canned cat food I feed them. I have found that feeding the Gerber Baby Foods 2nd Food meat, either Chicken or Turkey with gravy, again only TWO (2) ingredients, I have been able to put weight on a cat/kitten that seems unable to put any weight on. This is pure protein. ***Although, I do NOT RECOMMEND feeding this on a consistent basis or in place of CONSULTING A VET. ***

Has helped keep my cat and foster cats alive!
My kids, as babies, would always spit this out. However, the chicken and gravy one has literally saved the lives of cats and kittens I have fostered through the years. Countless times, I have had very frail cats refuse to eat for days, until I offer them this. A few I have syringe fed this and within a few days they were able to eat again. It is currently a life saver for my 17-year-old cat who had stopped eating. This is all she will take, along with the turkey flavor one.

Eureka! Worked for giving my cat powdered Cosequin!
So this is directed to CAT OWNERS (maybe dog owners, too?) who have had trouble finding a way to get their cats to eat food with a powdered medication sprinkled in it, specifically Cosequin, a joint health supplement recommended and prescribed by many vets which can also be bought on Amazon.Another cat owner had recommended using Gerber’s baby food in the meat flavors to administer Cosequin, a joint health supplement for cats who either have or are expected to get arthritis as a preventive measure. Vets tell you to open the capsules and sprinkle it on their wet food and mix it in. My problem – like many other cat owners – is my senior kitty, who isn’t normally a finicky eater and is, in fact, a very big boy, seemed to always know when I put the Cosequin in his food and wouldn’t eat it. (I tried the Cosequin chews and he wouldn’t eat them either.) I tried many different flavors and brands of cat food that he normally loved. My cats all love the Gerber chicken and the turkey flavors (I haven’t tried the beef flavor yet). But most importantly my 17-1/2 year old senior cat cat, for whom I bought it and who has trouble walking, ate every single drop of his biggest portion of Gerbers which also had an opened capsule of Cosequin mixed in! He even licked his bowl! He loved both the chicken and the turkey favors with his Consequin mixed in – and my other 2 cats loved both favors without as is out of the jar with no medication mixed in. I gave my senior cat about 1/2 to 2/3 of the jar with one opened capsule of Cosequin. Problem finally solved. And he’s now walking better.Comes in a nice two layer box with cardboard in between with 6 little glass jars on each level – 12 total: 6 chicken, 6 turkey.

This Food Literally Saved Our Cat
Our cat at 18.5 years old started having bowel problems and was getting bound up from a combination of regular cat food and hair from cleaning herself. Her condition actually was critical to where she got very bound up, wouldn’t and couldn’t eat, and had went down to 6.6 lbs and was looking and feeling thin and boney. She was not in the mood to eat any of the food she had previously eaten and was therefore not getting her needed protein.By chance I read online about the chicken and Turkey Gerber baby food being fed to elderly cats, and so we tried it, and it had been a small miracle! Our cat is not bound up now after having been eating this food for about two months, she loves the chicken food, and she had gone over the course of the first month from 6.6 lbs to 9.9 and has now gained back to where she is not boney at all. We really feel if we had not found where this food was a possibility for cats we would have lost her. We also feel it is good for elderly cats who may be having problems with chewing hard food. I don’t know if Gerber ever intended for the food to be used for this purpose, but we are thankful it was available and worked. One note, our vet said this may not be good to feed regularly to younger cats due to the starch content, but at our cats age he said do whatever works and give her whatever we can get her to eat and to get her her needed protein, and weight gain was critical to her recovery.I wish we had before and after photos to share, but we were not in the mood for pics when she was so sick. But take our word, this food worked in our cats recovery and now in sustaining her health.Thank you Gerber!

My little one loves this
My little one happens to be my cat. She eats her cat food daily. But she also love a treat now & then. This is her favorite and be refrigerated to make 3 treats! Chicken is her favorite. Don’t feed your cat or dog anything except chicken, Turkey, ham or beef with broth. Others my have onions, not good for cats & dogs. My vet recommended this when my cat was sick. Sorry I don’t have a baby review
