How Often Should I Replace My GermGuardian Filter?
We recommend you change your filter every 6–8 months. Like other consumables, lifespan of a filter is based upon usage. Our air purifiers are built for constant daily use. If you use yours less frequently, your filter will last longer. You can usually determine whether you’re ready to change the filter based upon its appearance. If it appears dirty, it should probably be replaced as soon as possible.
How do I reset the filter indicator light after replacing the filter?
Resetting the blinking light after replacing your filter requires a manual reset and differs per air purifier. Please locate your manual and follow the instructions. If you do not have your manual, you can locate it on Guardian Technologies website.

These are great.
Though they’re a bit pricey. Sigh. But they do the job and no one else will, my dog has zero interest in air filtration. He’s about the kong bone. Can’t say I blame him. Also these are easy to install and you can slip the old used filter in the box for easy cleanup as well. This is a concern cause you don’t want to drop a very used filter onto carpet, which I have in some rooms. That would be a very unfortunate outcome. That’s why it’s great to have a form fitting box to quickly toss the old filter in. One and done. That’s what I say.

Every time I change the filter, I am surprised at how much dust is trapped on the filter instead of being inhaled by me and my family members. My Germguardian device is fully compatible with this filter. We’re subscribed and get them monthly (4 units in the house). One thing is puzzling me though. Why the bundle packs give worse price per item than ordering a single filter?!

Worth the money
I smoke indoors and this filter/unit works very well for removing the smell from the air. Personally, I use the unit in the bedroom and smoke in the common area, and the bedroom smells fresh as day. Affordable solution for some clean air.

Replacement for my Germ Guardian AC4825E filter
I have a Germ Guardian Model AC4825E, so I purchased this replacement filter for it. This filter fits my unit perfectly. It took about 15 seconds to install, and my unit turns on and off just fine without any problems. It is necessary to hold down the UV button for about 5 seconds to reset the flashing warning light to replace the filter.This replacement filter is performing well and seems to clean and deodorize the air just as well as the previous filter. Overall I’m very happy with this product and I will order more when I need them.

 These filters just slide out once the back is clipped off and slide right back in place with the plastic wrap removed. They need to be replaced about every 6 months and capture a lot dust and dander. We went through a remodel recently and had a lot of dust from knocking out walls that crept around our curtain and this caught a good deal of it from the looks of the old filter.

Same HEPA Filter as when I purchased the purifier years ago
I compared the HEPA filter to the one I had bought years ago and it is the same high quality filter. It’s very easy to install obviously and it came in tip-top packaging.The carbon filter, however, is definitely useless to me. I bought a 4-set carbon filter pack and just used those.4-stars because, to me, it is still very worth the price, but the carbon filter, again, is very flimsy and useless.

We’ve been using the germ guardian hepa air purifier for a couple years now. We don’t change the filter as often as we should, but we can surely tell a difference when we put the new one in! It makes a huge difference for our son with breathing issues.

These filters get dirty quickly. But this particular one had a thin, flimsy pre filter that is going to allow me to replace the filter sooner than it needs to be. Other than that, easy to install. Felt it was a bit pricey.

Original Parts Always Work
I tried to use an aftermarket part from a different supplier and they did not work. The case has a tiny limit switch at the bottom that must be depressed for the power to turn on. The aftermarket part had a cardboard case with a foam seal and not enough regidity to depress the switch. I returned those and ordered these original supplier parts. They worked perfectly when installed. These are the only parts I will order in the future. More expensive but they work.

Mine doesn’t last 6 months
I bought this unit and an extra filter December 8, 2021. It works fantastic! I love how easy it is to change the filter. It’s nice looking. It’s super quiet and seems to do a very good job. It even lets you know when to change the filter! However, It’s January 31, 2022 and one downside is, I am a heavy smoker and the filter is just black and it stinks to high heaven! So I got a month and a half out of the filter. The other downside is the filters are a little pricy. Even though the change filter light is not on on my unit, the odor tells me it’s ready to be changed. I realize the 6 month filter change they advertise was probably for non-smokers. But I still love it! Worth every penny! I will always have an extra filter on hand.I clean the Hepa filters on my vacuums (they say not to) and they still work good as new as far as I can tell, so I’m gonna try to clean this filter before I toss it. Who knows? I might get an extra month out of it!Funny thing though…when I checked the filter just now I thought…is it supposed to be brown/black? Apparently not! LOLBut yes, I highly recommend it! Just might have to change out the filters more often if you’re a smoker.

Freshens Stale Stinky Air
I have a multiple cat household–to say the least. Although I have done all those expected things to reduce the odor of litter pans and pets, the air sometimes just needs to be refreshed. I’ve accumulated three Germ Guardian air purifiers over time. One or all of them are always on. Two are on timers, the big one near the litter pans runs on lowest setting 24/7. The one in the bedroom is on a timer because I forget to turn it on when I go to bed. I’m certain a percentage of it is the white noise, but physically, my eyes often feel sticky to actually a little crusty, and during spring and summer, my throat can be itchy when I wake up.Also, when I switched to an alleged “low-dust” plant-based litter, the dust was absolutely unbearable. A fine layer of powder settled everywhere in my house. I was miserable and ready to go back to a clay litter. The two filters in the main part of the house go a long way in reducing the dust in the air and on my furniture and floors, the reason why one runs 24/7 near the pans.However, in the years since I bought my first purifier, I have seen the charcoal layer of the filters get thinner–don’t know if it changes the performance of the filter. I don’t believe the white folded portion of the filters have changed much, but the charcoal layer has thinned considerably. I know this because I found an older filter that fell behind some cabinets in my garage and only recently pulled it out to use it and noticed how much thicker the charcoal layer is.Overall, I still recommend the filters and the purifiers for the longevity and effectiveness. I have all of the sizes on a six month subscription so when the new one comes in I just change them.

We had found the air purifier on the curb. Someone had thrown it away. Brought it home, it works fine. But the filters were badly clogged. So we bought this. Easy to install. Works great. The air purifier is not large, so is used in a small room to keep that air cleaner than outside it. As for this filter, it is easily worth the cost and has a positive impact on our health.

Excellent replacement and watch for price drops
Last year, I threw away my Honeywell Air Genius 5. As much as I liked it, it was frustrating to maintain and it had a mind of its own. I trust Peer Guardian products. I’ve had numerous humidifiers made by them so I bought the Germ Guardian AC 4825 to replace the Air Genius. Out of nowhere, about 6 months after buying it, it started flashing a red light to change the filter. Air Genius had a permanent filter. But don’t fooled by the permanent filters, it’s one of the reasons I got away from the Air Genius, the filter wouldn’t clean properly. So, I knew the Germ Guardian had to have replacement filters but I hadn’t bought any. I bought one of the generic versions here from Amazon and it’s good but when I turn my purifier on, I love the fresh smell, it’s probably not even noticeable to most people. The generic replacement filter never gave me the fresh air smell but it was doing a good job on everything else and at the time it was eighteen dollars less than the name brand, about a sixty percent difference in price. I need that fresh smell. I have a puppy that stays in my office and he’s a little guy and he stinks. He can’t help it. I give him baths but I think it’s because he’s so short, his belly hits the ground. I’m picking on the puppy. He has hair that sheds and sucks up any moisture so he don’t really stink but he has his own unique smell. The name brand filters help with that and give me a more fresh smell in my office.This upgraded version is a perfect fit and it comes with an attached carbon prefilter. It goes right in, no problems and it brought the fresh air back. Simple, easy, change and I caught these on what I assume was a sale for right at twenty dollars, so I bought 2 of them. They are usually around thirty. I also recommend this purifier even over the bigger version and the other brands. I run it on the medium speed from the time I walk into the office until I leave the office. It’s like flipping a light switch on. The room it’s in is roughly 15 x 17 and it also keeps the air fresh in the 8 x 10 bathroom that’s connected to the office. Not the funnest present to buy yourself but if you’re like me, your nose and sinuses and stinky puppy will thank you!

Long Lasting and High Quality Filters
I’ve been using these filters for about two years now. They work very well (see pictures). They capture room dust, loose carpet pile, small particulates, etc. So much material it becomes caked onto the filter over time. Ever since I began using, I’ve noticed that I don’t have as many breathing issues or asthma attacks. I keep my filter unit in my study room as this is an ideal location. I have it running continuously even when I’m not in the room. I would advise anyone that has breathing problems to use a unit that can accommodate these filters.
